The project wanted to be a possible answer to the issue of the post Expo 2015, the important event taking place in Rho area in Milan from May to October 2015. The site has been object of great infrastructural processes an economic investments. The work follows the theme of agriculture, hunger and future development in order to mantain its symbolic value to people. This is related to Italian economic situation, where investments in it represent only 4 % of PIL. The principal aim is also to promote Italian excellence in the country and in the world, connection and trade with Africa, fight against agropiraty, study global economic problems linked to agriculture and food supply.



The Centro per la salvaguardia e lo sviluppo della Terra has the task to answer three principal issues:


- Italian agricoltural organization and productive methods efficency: creation of a Macroconsortium, reduction of disparities between the North and the South and Made in Italy products promotion;


- economic and physical emergency: sperimental research about competitivity increase, irrigation, soil protection, biotechnology, spread of them and direct interventions;


- global market survey within the International Centre: solve disparity between different countries a principal problems, such as land grab.



The exhibition site is located in the Northwest of Milan, in a deeply infrastructured area thanks to the direct connection with the 3 airports of the city and the main public transport system that make its position strategic: it is easily reachable at local, regional and international level. Besides a cycling lane system, that will be reinforced in the future, connects the area to the main green area, Parco Agricolo Sud and Parco delle Groane. The itinerary can also be extended in order to put in communication the many farmsteads, architectural heritage of Lombard landscape. All these infrastructures are also useful to connect Expo area with other research centres at regional level.
